Lincoln's Homecoming Celebration!

I wish to express the greatest appreciation for the extensive photographic coverage of Lincoln's Homecoming. It was definitely the next best thing to being there! You really captured the community spirit, as it seems all the wonderful people in that area were out having a good time. I particularly enjoyed the coverage of the parade. My favorite photo of the lot was the one of all the people having supper together with the gorgeous Penobscot River flowing by. Your presentation of Homecoming inspires me to plan on making the trip to Lincoln next year. Great work---you are a truly valuable community asset! - Cape Elizabeth, Maine

This year’s Homecoming theme is, “As big as all outdoors!” Lincoln's Recreation Director Shelly Crosby said the Homecoming Committee came up with the idea. Shelly said she can see the committee having float judging categories that include the best outhouse, the best ice house, best hunting or fishing float, biggest fish photo, lumberjack contest, etc.

"We’re always looking to solicit volunteers for the committee. If you’re new to our community, then please consider this your invitation to come join the committee! If you’re not new, then this too is your invitation."!

If you’re interested in participating, give Shelly a call at 794-6548. There are many volunteering opportunities; not all of which are huge projects. There are small projects you might be able to help with.

Homecoming Wiffleball Tournament

July 14 - Twenty-three teams with players from as far away as New York State converged at Mattanawcook Academy this morning for the 2007 Lincoln Homecoming Wiffleball Tournament. This is the 11th Edition of this tournament. Later this afternoon, one team will emerge from this crowded field with the Championship AND the bragging rights that go with it. And "bragging rights", I'm told, are VERY important in Wiffleball! So, as the events of Lincoln's Homecoming 2007 start off, click here for some colorful action photos of today's Wiffleball tournament.
