July 18 - The rain held off till the show was over. And, what a show it was. The hundreds of people massed on Cobb Field tonight were treated to a 20-minute plus fireworks show that was one of the best I've ever seen. Hats off to everyone involved! A fitting end to another successful Lincoln Homecoming. CLICK HERE for a slideshow of some of the photos we took this evening. A 5-minute HD video of some of the pyrotechnics is included below for your enjoyment. We want to thank the Lincoln ME Fed'l. Credit Union for underwriting our costs for our coverage of this year's Homecoming celebration. To Shelly, Jerry and EVERYONE - JOB WELL DONE!! Already looking forward to next July! And, join the several hundred "fans of Lincoln" on our FaceBook page - "Welcome To Lincoln, Maine".

July 16 - The people came a little early and the rain came a little late. Folks started arriving around 3:30 pm, and the rain didn't arrive until shortly after 5 pm. And, the rain didn't last too long, as once again Ludden Field was filled with the aroma of baked beans, biscuits and a lot of good down home cookin' and conversation.

Copies of his "Mr. Sunshine" CD as well as his new CD, "Things of The Heart" will be available for purchase. He's quite the entertainer and kids seem to love his shows!! "Mr. Sunshine" was broadcast on WABI-TV in Bangor in the 1990s.

December 19, 2008 - Lincoln's Homecoming celebration has a new name! This past week the Lincoln Homecoming Committee decided to streamline the event by giving it a permanent name rather than changing the theme each year. Starting in 2009 the event will be referred to as “The Riverdrivers Homecoming Festival”. The theme for this year's Homecoming celebrations in July will be "Comedy Sitcoms of TV-Land".

| IT'S A WRAP !! GREAT TIME - AGAIN! July 20, 2008 - Well, another Lincoln Homecoming has come and now gone, but what a great week it was! Our congratulations to the Homecoming Committee for a job well done. As in the past three years, Connie and I took thousands of pictures, many of which you can view here on www.lincolnmaine.us. This year we took more than ever! We'd like to thank the Lincoln Maine Federal Credit Union for again underwriting our coverage of Homecoming '08 - as they did last year. We want to thank Shelly Crosby, Jerry Davis, and Ron Weatherbee for being so helpful to us as we went about trying to photograph as many of the sights and events of this year's celebration as possible. And we'd like to mention that we think the various members of the fire and police departments did a superb job during the whole time. This year we expanded our photographic coverage of Homecoming and tried to get a photo of just about everything. And then to get them online ASAP!! I hope we succeeded and we hope you enjoy what we have here. And, the Lord willing, we'll be back next year, and, we hope to see you here!! | River Driver's Supper | ||||||
![]() |
||||||
|
The 61st annual River Driver's Supper was superb as usual! Very hot - in the upper 80's - temperatures didn't keep the people away. A slight breeze did, however, keep the black flies away as hundreds of locals and outta-towners converged on Ludden's Field late this afternoon for some great beanhole beans, hot dogs, homemade biscuits and more! And just some good old-fashioned socializing! Shade was the only thing in short supply today. This annual event is one of the many things that makes living in a small New England town VERY worthwhile. And, to show you what it's all about, CLICK HERE for some photos shot a few hours ago......
