Jordans Hold 51st Family Reunion

To say that we had the most beautiful summer day this year would be an understatement. For all of the 75 people who attended the Jordan Family Reunion on the 4th of July at the Worcester Homestead on the Little Narrows would all agree. The descendants and friends of the late Charles and Helen Jordan gathered for another year of joyous fellowship and catching up on all the family news.

A large group of children of all ages and grownups started the weekend off with the strawberry picking, one of the most popular events to be held. Others were participating in the local "Jordan Open For Bragging Rights, 2010" which was held at the Green Valley Golf Course. The overall winner this year was Ken Greene along with teammates, Bob Jordan, Jay Cole and Gerry Dill. A karaoke night was held, much to the delight of all that attended. The young ones really enjoy this, too, as it showed in their performances, also. As the beautiful weather continued, there was a kayak trip down the Passadumkeag River. Fishing trips, card games, a bean bean hole bean and several campfire gatherings going well into the night. There was something for everyone, the most popular popular things, being the swimming, boating and fun rides behind the boat.

The chicken barbecue was especially delicious with the tales piled high with all kinds of favorite dishes. This was topped off with the infamous strawberry shortcake. The talented young children put on a musical show prepared and presented for all. They passed the hat and raised a good sum of money for the local Humane Society. As the good weather continued, there was never a dull moment and we all look ahead to 2011!
