About Us

Connie Rand, a native of Lincoln, Maine, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. She has 36 years experience in print advertising, including four years in the advertising department at Porteous Mitchell & Braun in Portland, Maine and 12 years in the newspaper business. Her articles and photographs have been published in numerous magazines and newspapers throughout the New England area.

Connie has 24 years of experience with Macintosh computers. Her knowledge of applications such as InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as Mac system software has proven invaluable at Rand Advertising. 

Connie also designs quilts and does technical artwork for Quilter's World magazine, as well as many hardcover books and softcover pattern booklets. Published by House of White Birches in Berne, Indiana, these publications are sold worldwide. She has had two quilt pattern books published, including her current best seller "LIGHTHOUSES OF NEW ENGLAND". Her quilts have won numerous awards, including first place and Best of Show. She's been featured in the Bangor Daily News several times.
Connie’s wildlife and landscape drawings and paintings are in private collections across the United States and Canada. 
 
Lee Rand hails from Bangor and Old Town, and holds a degree in Business Administration. Lee comes from a successful broadcasting career which includes over 35 years of on-the-job experience in advertising and public relations. He is also a well-known musicologist and an award-winning photographer.
As a  popular local radio personality "Mr. Solid Gold", Lee used his public recognition and engaging personality as tools to advance sales at the radio stations he worked for and managed during this time. At one time Lee's "Solid Gold Show" was the #1 Sunday afternoon radio show north of Bangor according to a Bangor survey company's report in the the mid-80's! In 1988, Lee left his broadcasting career and joined Connie in forming Rand Advertising. With his knack for promotions, Lee was soon a much sought after commodity by politicians as well as local businesses. Over the years Lee has managed political campaigns for numerous candidates including those running for the State Legislature, Congress, and the Governor's office. His reputation for unique ideas and new ways to promote people and products has become well- known.
Lee's advertising sales experience includes radio sales and management in the Bangor and Northern Maine markets during the 1980's.
Lee also has had his photos published in several magazines that were sold and/or distributed world-wide. In 2008 he published a book of his photos on Lincoln, Maine's "Little Red School House". That book, his second, sold out in two editions. Another photo book is in the works. Lee is a former board member of the Lincoln, Maine, area Chamber of Commerce and both Lee & Connie are former Rotarians.
 
 
AWARDS
Rand Advertising LLC was the 2007 recipient of the Greater Lincoln Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce "Business Persons of the Year" award. This prestigious award was given in recognition of Lee and Connie's work in promoting the greater Lincoln area through this website. The Rands were also active members of the now-defunct Lincoln Rotary Club.
