OCTOBER 30, 2011 - Late October snow storm hits Lincoln, Maine area with high winds and several inches of snow!

2nd annual snowman photo contest to be held this winter by Lincoln area website

We had so much fun with our snowman photo contest last year, on your Lincoln area website, that we we'll be holding our 2nd Annual Contest this coming "snow season"! We'll be offering (at least) a $100 prize to the winner. All the details will be announced in early November and the contest will run from Thanksgiving Day to New Year's Day - longer if we don't have a lot of snow during that time period. Watch for the official announcement and get your mittens (and cameras) ready!

Here's a photo of one from last winter!:

Lee & Connie

The first snowfall of the winter season here in Lincoln could happen anytime after the middle of November. Some years the snow comes early and stays late, and some years it's the other way around. The unofficial record low temperature here was -42 degrees, back in the 1960s. Don't worry - it doesn't usually get that cold, although it's normal to have a few days of below zero weather in the winter. For those of you who enjoy winter outdoor sports such as ice fishing and snowmobiling, this is the place for you!

We hope you enjoy these photos. Lincoln is beautiful in the winter, too.
